Inspiring and Challenging: Day 3 of the USPG Conference
Today was the final day of USPG's 2021 conference, For Such A Time As This.
Following sessions on prayer and provision during the Covid-19 pandemic and dealing with racial injustice yesterday, this morning we heard contributions on the theme of "The Cry of Creation: Creativity in the Church".
This session included worship from the Oxford Diocesan Board for Schools and reflections from the Rt Rev'd Graham Usher, Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Rev'd Carlos Simão Matsinhe, Bishop of Lebombo in Mozambique, and the Rt Rev'd Marinez Rosa dos Santos Bassotto, Bishop of the Amazon. We also heard a powerful bible study from Suchitra Behera, theologian and international development practitioner in the Diocese of Barishal in Bangladesh.
The Rev'd Duncan Dormor drew the conference to a close, saying: "What we have heard these last two days has been inspiring, challenging and prophetic. At the heart of our faith, we are a people who gather; we have come together over the last couple of days to learn how to respond more fully to God's call, wherever we may be".
