Senior Leadership Team
Duncan assumed the role of General Secretary at USPG in January 2018. An Anglican priest, published author, teacher, and public speaker, he brings extensive experience from his tenure at St John’s College, Cambridge, where he served as Dean of Chapel and President. Duncan holds degrees in Human Sciences, Theology, and Demography and is a member of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland’s Mission and Theological Advisory Group. In late 2024, Duncan was installed as Canon Theologian of Portsmouth Cathedral.
Vijay values how his work with churches worldwide has deepened his Christian faith. With over 20 years of experience in the charity sector, including roles at the UK Faith and Belief Forum and the Gujarat Tract & Book Society, he brings expertise to his role as Deputy General Secretary.
Peniel previously served as Programme Coordinator for Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation at the World Council of Churches in Geneva, contributing significantly to understanding mission and interfaith dialogues. With experience in Anglican theologies and a background in ordained ministry and academia, including a PhD in Applied Theology, Peniel brings valuable insights to USPG. Peniel is also Canon Theologian for York Minster and Worcester Cathedral.
Atim brings a decade of experience from various INGOs having worked in communications, fundraising, and marketing roles. As CEF Director, Atim leads a team spanning Communications, Engagement, and Fundraising and aims to raise USPG’s profile.
Global Mission Team
Prior to USPG, Fran held senior management roles in Africa, South and Central Asia, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe, alongside teaching experience in Africa and at the London School of Economics (LSE). With a background in sociology, geography, Christian studies, MSc in Development Management (University of Birmingham) and MSc in Social policy research (LSE). Fran specialises in church ministry, governance, management, and social policy planning. Fran is responsible for strengthening USPG’s relationship with global Anglican Church partners in Africa, putting the goal of mutual transformational mission at the heart of the encounter.
Over the past 24 years, Davidson has dedicated himself to humanitarian development work and peace-building, with experience spanning World Vision India and Tearfund UK. In his role at USPG, he focuses on strengthening relationships with global Anglican Church partners, prioritising mutual transformational mission. He is ordained as a Minister in the Church of England and brings a diverse educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Sociology, Peace & Conflict Resolution, and Theology to his role.
With a varied professional background, Carol brings valuable experience to her role. She is passionate about building relationships and supporting churches.
Jo, who first joined USPG as a programme evaluator, now leads our research efforts. Her research spans various topics, from community health engagement in Africa to human trafficking and the Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2019, in collaboration with the University of Leeds, we’ve delved into our archives and history as an entity of the British Empire and addressed human rights issues. Jo’s background includes academia, with a focus on geography and gender dynamics within the Anglican Communion. She currently serves as a visiting fellow at the University of Leeds and as a trustee of the Leeds Church Institute.
Paulo’s journey in faith began at 13, leading him to pursue his passion for theology and the Bible, notably through his involvement with Contextual Bible Studies and the Landless Peoples Movement in Brazil. A theologian and New Testament biblical scholar who works as the theological advisor and regional manager for Latin America and the Caribbean for the USPG and Latin America for the Anglican Alliance. He also advises the Episcopal Ministry Department of the Anglican Communion.
With a background in program and communications roles at organisations like the Institute of Economic Affairs in Ghana and Oxfam Great Britain, Venetia brings a wealth of experience. As part of the Global Mission Team, she works to strengthen our relationships with global Anglican Church partners in specific regions.
With a background in programme development, particularly in sustainability and human development approaches, Nadia shares administrative responsibility for programmes and relationships with global Anglican Church partners across Asia.
With over 20 years of experience in international development, primarily within faith-based organisations, George has led and supported the delivery of complex programmes serving vulnerable communities. At the core of his work is a commitment to advancing justice, upholding dignity, empowering and enabling the transformation of local communities. In his role as Regional Programme Coordinator for Africa, George ensures that programmes and partnerships are sustainable, impactful, and contribute meaningfully to the growth and mission of the Church.
Executive Team
Zoey joined USPG in January 2023, previously working as an EA at Comic Relief. Zoey has enjoyed transitioning to the charity sector having spent over 15 years working within the NHS in various administrative supportive roles. Zoey has the joy of working closely with the General Secretary and is responsible for strengthening relationships with our wonderful Trustees.
Chris joined USPG in early 2024, having previously worked in operations, market research and project management for the legal and higher education sectors. As UK Special Project Manager on the Codrington Project, he oversees matters relating to research, engagement, operations, communications and governance in partnership with colleagues at the Codrington Trust.
Holding an MA in Postcolonial Studies from the University of Kent, he remains a member of Kent’s Centre for Indigenous and Settler Colonial Studies. His own research focuses on the social and cultural impact of global capitalism, western militarism and climate change on postcolonial island states, particularly the Chagos Archipelago.

Communications, Engagement and Fundraising
Matt has a strong background in communications, PR, and brand management with experience across the charity, FMCG, and renewable energy sectors. He is passionate about people, storytelling, and ensuring that organisations’ voices can be heard in an increasingly competitive landscape. As Senior Communications and Engagement Manager, Matt oversees all of USPG’s external communications, including content, publications, marketing, branding, events, church engagement, and more.
Rachel is a linguist and brings experience of humanitarian support work in various countries. As Communications Officer, she loves hearing and sharing stories of hope from around the world.
Jane joins USPG as Individual Giving Manager and is part of the fundraising team. She brings a strong background in relationship-building and administration, and has worked closely with clergy, pastoral leaders and a wide range of stakeholders. Jane enjoys connecting with people, getting to know what matters to them, and helping supporters feel confident about the difference their giving makes. She’s looking forward to building strong, lasting relationships with USPG’s supporters and supporting the growth of individual giving.
As a marketing communications graduate, Jessica enjoys mixing her creativity and strategic thinking. As Individual Giving Officer, she works with the team to put creative strategies in place to engage with USPG’s supporters.
As part of the CEF team, Yeny combines strong administrative experience with a caring, people‑centred approach. She enjoys building meaningful connections with supporters, listening to what motivates their giving, and ensuring every interaction feels warm and valued.
Finance and Operations
Kandeepan is a CIMA qualified accountant with a decade of experience in accountancy practice. As Senior Finance Manager, he oversees daily finance operations, implementing robust financial controls and maintaining sound practices to support USPG’s mission.
Pam processes the Society’s Direct Debit donations and ensures that our UK suppliers are paid on time.
Pam enjoys volunteering at her local Gurdwara and is learning to play the harmonium. She enjoys cooking, walks in nature and Theatre shows.
An experienced finance and administrative professional with a strong background in Embassy operations, specializing in worldwide Diplomatic Health Insurance ,finance, and human resources. Proven ability to manage global insurance processing for diplomats and staff, maintain accurate financial records, support payroll, and ensure effective HR coordination and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Tashi’s professional background is in the start-up industry, where various HR positions enabled her to gain experience in managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle from recruitment to retention. They also helped Tashi discover and develop her interest in HR strategy and staff well-being, which she puts into practice at USPG.
Catherine’s role is to manage USPG’s archives for the benefit of the Society and wider community – ensuring their preservation and making them accessible; provide a records management service and share in the work involved in Data Protection compliance.
Kathryne joined in July 2024, working with USPG to conduct a historic safeguarding review, having completed similar projects in the education sector. This research focuses on the late twentieth and early twenty-first century, using USPG’s archival collections.
Renata has a background in operations and property management within various church settings. She oversees daily office operations, including IT support, Facilities Management, and HR administration, while ensuring compliance with company policies in areas such as Safeguarding and GDPR.
