USPG & Jerusalem and the Middle East
The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East encompasses the Diocese of Jerusalem (covering Israel, Palestinian territories, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon), the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf (covering Cyprus, the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq) and the Diocese of Iran. The geographical spread and political differences across the Province present complications, but the Church is committed to shining the light of Christ into areas of darkness and offering hope to those otherwise living in despair.
USPG is one of eight partners working jointly under Anglican Alliance partners’ response to the conflict in the Holy Land – a key demonstration of Christian unity, stronger partnership and increased solidarity. The Diocese of Jerusalem share their heartfelt thanks for this collaborative approach and add their gratitude for the prayers and kind donations of all supporters.
Whom Shall I Send?
In partnership with the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East, USPG journeys alongside a young people from different and complex contexts equipping them for mission and ministry in the region.
Al-Ahli Anglican Hospital
Healthcare is a central ministry for the Diocese of Jerusalem. The Al-Ahli Anglican Hospital in Gaza was founded in the late 1800s and has been offering quality healthcare – mostly free of charge – in one of the world’s most troubled environments. The surrounding political landscape means that receiving and administering aid is often complicated and unpredictable.
