The Diocese in Europe stretches from Norway to Morocco and Portugal to Russia which makes it the largest diocese in the Church of England in terms of geography. It also encompasses incredible diversity and is compelled to promote a sense of belonging together ensuring that all people are welcome.
The partnership between the Diocese in Europe and USPG within Germany is particularly focussed on a shared pursuit of racial justice. The annual International and Ecumenical Conference facilitates ongoing discussions on racial justice across Europe, and therefore aims to promote a more inclusive Church community.
Racial Justice
In 2020 the Diocese in Europe undertook an audit of racial justice in chaplaincies and the paper ‘Breathing Life: An invitation to share in belonging together through racial justice’ was adopted by the Synod.
