USPG is honoured to partner with the Church of Bangladesh and engage with their clinic-based Community Health Programme. The Church in Bangladesh is improving family healthcare in up to 50 villages. Through this mission initiative, the Church supports rural communities feel empowered regarding healthcare. The services include running village clinics and immunisation programmes, providing medical checkups and organising healthcare camps.
The programme engages and equips women like Alpana, a 28-year-old who lives in Baruajani. She had never visited a hospital or clinic before, but a health worker visited her when she was pregnant with her fourth child. They taught her about pre-natal health and supported her through pre and post-natal services at her local clinic. Alpana could walk to her local clinic for checkups and give birth to a healthy baby girl at home supported by her local Community Health Worker.
