Americas and The Caribbean
Our work across this region is varied including reparative justice projects and working with Indigenous communities.
HIGHLIGHTS
Indigenous Theologies
We participate in a journey of reconciliation, accompanying Indigenous communities as they seek visibility within the Anglican Communion and Body of Christ. This is being achieved through a collaboration between the Anglican Church of Canada, Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil and churches across Oceania.
Exchanging Places
People continue to be at the heart of USPG’s work. Our ‘all places to all places’ ethos encourages cross-cultural exchanges that offer uniquely decolonial ways of serving God.
HIV Prevention and Awareness
Casa A+, run by the Diocese of Brasilia, is a safehouse of hope and healing which welcomes those with HIV/AIDS. We support their efforts to care for those in need, reduce stigma and isolation, and raise awareness of this potentially life-threatening condition.
USPG IN AMERICAS & THE CARIBBEAN
Today, USPG has a long and cherished relationship with the Church in the Province of the West Indies, which includes Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands and others. In 2023 USPG announced our joint reparative justice project with the Codrington Trust in Barbados. We also work in partnership with Igreja Anglicana do Brasil in its formidable pursuit of human rights. We partner with churches in this region as they seek to be agents of transformative change in their communities and beyond.
