Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Responsible to: Director of Finance and Operations

Salary: £24,000 to £27,000 for 3 days per week (£40,000 to £45,000 FTE) per annum depending on experience.

Location: USPG, 5 Trinity Street, London, SE1 1DB

Hours of work: Part time 3 days per week (21 hours per week). Very occasional work outside normal working hours with time off in lieu.

The package also includes

About the Role

We have created this new position within the Finance and Operations team, to provide excellent human resources services to our staff and to support their well-being. With an  increasing number of staff, this role will be a key in providing infrastructure support, developing and implementing HR strategy and will focus on staff wellbeing, and enhancing training and development opportunities. The HR manager will support the Director of Finance and Operations in the smooth running of the HR function.

About You 

This position is for a candidate who is innovative and experienced in managing the employee journey from recruitment, retention, development, wellness, and performance to departure, covering the effective life cycle of an employee at USPG. This will involve dealing with complex employment matters, building effective employee relationships, robust policies & procedures, and implementation of all this across the whole organisation on a fair and consistent basis. 

The post is based in the Finance and Operations team which encompasses finance, HR, IT, office management, archive and organisational operations related matters. The post holder will work collaboratively across this team and the wider organisation to deliver organisational and team objectives.

Job Title: Archive Review Officer (Historic Safeguarding)

Responsible to: Director of Finance and Operations

Salary: £16,000 - £20,000 for 2.5 days per week (£32,000 – £40,000 FTE) per annum depending on experience

Location: Head Office, 5 Trinity Street, London, SE1 1DB and Other Archive locations (SE1, SN3, Oxford)

Hours of work: Part-time 2.5 days per week (17.5 hours per week). 1 year contract*. Occasional work outside normal working hours with time off in lieu.

*USPG is open to applicants who wish to vary the timeframe over which this work is undertaken, including working full-time for 6 months. It is willing to explore the possibility of someone undertaking this work as a freelancer.

About the Role 

We have created this new position which involves working through the personnel archives of USPG and undertaking a safeguarding review of historic files of USPG missionaries and other personnel.

About You

The candidate appointed will need to be highly systematic with excellent attention to detail. They will need an inquisitorial mind and some safeguarding knowledge. Potential professional backgrounds include social work, health, education, and archive research. The candidate will be required to produce timely and accurate reports and manage the work with strict timeline and prioritisation.

Job Title: Major Donor Manager

Responsible to: Senior Fundraising Manager

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

Location: USPG, 5 Trinity Street, London, SE1 1DB - Flexible working available - a minimum of two days working in the London office, currently Mondays and Wednesdays.

Hours of work: Full time - 35 hours per week (Occasional work outside of office hours, with time off in lieu).

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, the Major Donor Manager sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. We are looking for an experienced, fundraising professional to join our team, to help us identify, approach and cultivate relationships with key individuals who have the potential to make major contributions to our work.

The role involves developing plans that feed into the USPG fundraising strategy to increase engagement from high net worth individuals and cultivating new high value donors. Managing the major donor income and expenditure budgets, ensuring all activity meets income targets and expenditure remains on budget. Developing and managing a pipeline of donors to approach and build relationships, securing high value (5 and 6 figure) gifts. Hosting meetings, presentations and special events to network with high value donors and cultivate new relationships.

This is a really exciting opportunity to develop and deliver a new major donor programme as well as working with our Global Mission team on developing the case for support and impact reporting.

About You 

You are a confident, passionate fundraiser and relationship manager with the proven ability to motivate and inspire others to give. You have experience of implementing fundraising plans, developing a pipeline of high value donors and securing high value (5 and 6 figure) gifts. You are pro-active and self-sufficient, equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team to achieve shared goals. You are target driven with a hands-on approach, adapting as necessary to carry out a range of tasks from writing proposals, managing events and researching prospective donors. 

You are highly personable, with the ability to engage supporters and stakeholders with diplomacy and persuasiveness. An excellent communicator with strong writing skills and the ability to adapt to different audiences, you will be comfortable working closely with senior leadership, trustees and influencers to unlock peer connections and leverage new support. You are enthusiastic about collaborating with others across the organisation and enjoy working in an innovative creative environment.
