USPG was nominated in this year’s surefish.co.uk church website of the year competition and awarded a special award for ease of use, navigation, use of images, quality of content, engagement with new visitors and a host of other things.
www.uspg.org.uk did not quite fit into any of the competition categories but the judges were so impressed that they created a special award for USPG.
Elfed Hughes, USPG director of Britain and Ireland Relations Team received the award at a special award lunch event at the Christian Aid head office in London hosted by presenter and broadcaster Pam Rhodes (BBC songs of praise presenter).
Elfed said: "USPG is used to the leading the way, as we have done many times in over 300 years of history! The way in which we have been given this award, despite not fitting into the categories for the Surefish competition, is yet more evidence of this trailblazing spirit. It is a great delight to have an independent judgement, by way of this award, for what many supporters and users of the website have been telling us. It is a tribute also to the hard work and creative skill of our own staff and Flat Earth Communications, our website designer".
